"Public Relations in a Changing World"

The
Syrian Public Relations Association organizes the first international
conference on "Public Relations in a Changing World" in cooperation
with the Institute for Public Relations (CIPR), the Al-Jazeera Media
Training and Development Center (Qatar) and the Syrian Academy for
Training and Development (Syria). The conference will be held in "Dar
Al Opera in Damascus- June 29th and 30th.
The conference will spot
light on the issue of public relations which are increasingly developed
in the Arab world due to its significance for governments, leaders, and
companies. Public relations proved to have a remarkable impact on
public opinion, and facilitating work environment.
This conference will provide an
extraordinary opportunity to explore all horizons of Public Relations,
such like Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, and
Political Science in addition to Business and Management; as well as to
emphasize on the fact that PR is a sublime art which entitled it to be
the profession of the age besides proving the relation between
institutions and the public.
The conference will consist of
lectures, workshops, and presentations of papers on topics relating to
local and international public relations, including economics, media,
and communication. Specialists in the field will extend their expertise
on practical issues of public relations in the Arabic world, and
specific problems posed by the unsettled nature of the world right now.
Discussions will mainly focus on the developed sector of PR in the Arab
region and the increased interest of governments and institutions
realizing its role as a tool for change. As well as achieving the
following objectives:
Confirming
the important role of public relations and empowering it in magnifying
the image of governments and institutions in public mentalities.
Correct wrong misconceptions on public relations in public and private sector.
Identify the difference between Public Relations and other related issues, such as media, advertising, promotion, and marketing.
Exchange of expertise between specialists and workers in the field of public relations.
Initiating
the CIPR program for training and developing the skills of workers in
the field of public relations in the Arabic world. This program will be
implemented in cooperation with the Al-Jazeera Media Training and
Development Center and the Syrian International Academy for Training
and Development. Trainings will help to improve the industry of public
relations in the Arab region as well as showing the vital role of PR in
both private and public sectors, especially in the current situation.
