Arab Institute of International & Diplomatic Sciences Receives the previous Canadian Minister of Foreign Affaires

The Arab Institute of International & Diplomatic Sciences received Mr. Bill Graham, the previous Canadian Minister of Foreign Affaires, and accompanying guests dated on January 14th 2009, for a discovery visit to the institute attached to the Syrian International Academy for Training and Development. its equipments, and main study perspectives of the institute's programs.



Dr. Nezar Mihoub, Chairman of Administration Board, assured the importance of similar meetings in achieving direct communication between politicians and common-view leaders on the one hand and educational institutions caring with the diplomatic affair on the second hand, in the great role played by these institutions in preparing qualified cadres for practicing the diplomatic work. Dr. Mihoub insisted on the role of personal communication, dialog and different points of view between leaders of the common view in Western countries and the Middle East concerning international-perspective issues in order to fight crises hindering the world in the status quo trying to avoid it. Dr. Mihoub believes that the existence of these crises is due to the misunderstanding of Western countries about the reality of the Middle East. It is mostly due to information non-availability; resulting from the lack of personal contact channels between the two sides. Accordingly, Dr. Mihoub assured for the delegation of the necessary communicative activation between international institutions and individuals to make points of view closer in the internationally affecting issues. In this context, he alludes to the role of "General Diplomacy" in enhancing Formal Diplomacy.
